Mara Naboisho Conservancy

Mara Naboisho Conservancy

Mara Naboisho Conservancy, is in the northeastern part of the Masai Mara environment. To the southwest, it shares a border with the well-known Masai Mara National Reserve.

Size

It takes up 56 square miles to be the Mara Naboisho Conservancy.

History

Established in 2010 as a Conservancy, the Mara Naboisho Conservancy is one of the newest safari areas in the Mara. It is made up of more than 500 Masaai ranchers working together. With fewer than 10 lodges or camps, the conservancy is an important part of both conservation and sustainable tourism. This is because not many cars travel through the land.

Fees and permits to get in

The cost to enter the Mara Naboisha Conservancy is USD80 for adults per day and USD45 for kids younger than 12 years old.

When they are open

The gates to the Mara Naboisho Conservancy open at 6am and close at 6pm every day, the same times as the larger Masai Mara National Reserve.

How to Get There

By Road

Driving from Nairobi to Mara Naboisho Conservancy will take about four and a half hours and go along the Uhuru Highway/A104. The trip is about 145 miles long.

By Air

From Wilson Airport in Nairobi, the flight is about 100 miles long and takes about 42 minutes. The Ol Seki runway is where guests will land.

Best Time to Visit

Climate and weather

June, July, and August are mild winter months. The high temperature most days is around 75 F, and it’s cool in the mornings and nights. This is the best time to go on adventure in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy because it is dry because it hasn’t rained yet.

Staying away from crowds

The Mara Naboisho Conservancy’s busiest months are July through September. If you want a more peaceful safari experience, you might want to go before or after these months. You can also enjoy great weather in the area in late spring as September turns into October and late fall in May and early June. Because there are only nine places to stay in Mara Naboisho conservancy, it is not as busy as some other conservancies and parts of the Mara.

Good Value for Money

There is a lodge or camp for every price, from simple wilderness camps to small, private safari retreats with all the comforts of home. If you stay outside of the main Masai Mara National Reserve, you can go on walks in the bush and maybe even a night drive, which will make your trip more enjoyable.

Wildlife & Landscape

Wildlife Sightings That People Love in Mara Naboisho Conservancy

There are a lot of lions in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, and game drives and bush walks are great ways to see them. The land is home to large groups of elephant, zebra, and wildebeest, and wild dogs are often seen roaming this area. Watch out for the local pygmy falcon and the bush pipit if you like birds. These are just two of the rare bird species that live in the area.

The Ground

The land in the Mara Naboisho Conservancy is a beautiful mix of open grasslands, acacia-filled forests, and rolling hills that make the scenery even more beautiful.

Safari Experiences

Game Drives

For the best views of animals, game drives usually happen early in the morning or late in the afternoon in an open 4×4 safari vehicle or a closed 4×4 vehicle with a pop-up roof. You can spend the day in the conservancy, and some hotels will take their guests on night drives.

Safaris with a guide

A trained safari guide can show you around the plains and riverine forests of the Mara Naboisho Conservancy. Enjoy nature close up and keep an eye out for bigger animals and predators in the distance as you watch plains game graze nearby. Find out about the plants, animals, and amazing birds that live in the area.

Lodges & Camps

In the Mara Naboisho Conservancy, there are only nine hotels and camps. This makes a safari in this part of the Masai Mara ecosystem very personal. There are a lot of different types of safari lodges and camps, so there is something for every price.
